Semester Calendar
Knowing the date for an event or a deadline can mean so many things: dropping a class on time, seeing that poet you just read about, listening to alumni talk about how to search for a job.
This page was created to help you become aware of the sorts of academic deadlines and events -- plus a good many social ones! -- that occur on a semester-by-semester basis at VT and in the English Department. Select what you need from the three categories of calendars:

- Timetable Calendars and Deadlines
Use this developed semester-based Calendar to find out specific deadlines. It covers everything you will need, like the deadlines for adding or dropping a class, applying for graduation, or withdrawing from a course.
- Academic Calendar
Use this academic year calendar if you need to find a broad date, like the day classes end or a vacation period. It does not cover more specific deadlines.
Interested in seeing a performance of Hamlet or Grease? Want to check out an art exhibition, attend a jazz concert, or show off your moves at a swing dance? This calendar tells you what's happening in the arts at VT.
The News and Events section of the department's main page provides you with information about what's coming up in the English Department, whether it's a presentation by a visiting poet, a workshop on resume writing, or a discussion of what jobs are like in the legal field.
