Assistant Professor of Renaissance Literature

The English Department at Virginia Tech seeks applicants for a tenure track Assistant Professorship in Renaissance Literature. This position depends on final budget approval.

Required: Specialization in Renaissance Literature, evidence of successful teaching, and the promise of significant scholarly research. PhD in English by August 2008. Preferred: ability to teach Shakespeare, Milton, and other literature of the period. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, establishing a solid research program, and serving on departmental, college, and university committees. Successful applicants will also show a commitment to advising and mentoring students and to diversity. Teaching load 2/2.
