PhD in Rhetoric and Writing
The PhD Program in Rhetoric and Writing at Virginia Tech integrates
the scholarship and teaching of our Rhetoric, Composition Studies,
and Professional Writing faculty through a common focus on language in thinking,
knowing, negotiating, decision making, and acting. We
seek students interested in examining rhetoric and writing in public,
academic, and corporate settings.

February 1, 2008
Applicants who wish to be considered for assistantships will have the best
chances for these positions if their applications are complete by February
1.
To be eligible for a university-paid campus visit in February, applicants should
complete their applications by early January. The department can nominate a
total of three applicants.
