Master of Arts in English
A graduate program is more than a degree, and the degree is more than a series of credits. At Virginia Tech, we offer you the opportunity for participation in the intellectual life of the department and university communities. You will work closely with faculty members in your thesis or independent study as well as in courses. When you graduate, you will be prepared for further study at the doctoral level. You will know more about the content, value, and methods of English Studies, which could be helpful in high school or college teaching as well as in life. Depending on choices you make, you may be prepared for writing and editing positions or for management positions that require good communication skills.
