Student Profiles: Megan Fisher
I
received both my B.A. in English and History and my M.A. in English from Virginia
Tech, where I was Chairperson of the English Graduate Student Conference “With
Pen in Hand” in 2005. I am currently a graduate research assistant
in the Center for the Study of Rhetoric and Society. My current projects
include an examination of the rhetoric of social movements in the specific
context of the Women's Sports Foundation, as well as work on the CSRS’s
National Endowment for the Humanities Grant Proposal for the documentary “The
Invisible Season,” also highlighting the rhetoric of social activism.
Future research interests include rhetoric for leadership, composition pedagogy,
and learning styles, as well as writing program curriculum design. Previous
teaching experience includes courses in the department’s First-Year Composition
program and Interdisciplinary courses including Introduction to Citizen Leadership,
Women and Leadership, and Rhetoric and Communication for Leadership.
