Student Profiles: Laura Dulaney
As
a fiction writer, I’m interested in character driven stories. I’m
continually asking: Why do people do what they do? What are each
person’s motivations? What happens when the expectations of society
and culture clash with one’s individuality or eccentricities? What
does it take to propel someone to risk change? I like to study the interplay
of the sacred and profane, irony and coincidence. As I examine these
questions and issues, I also enjoy rolling in the sensuousness of language. Ah,
words!
