Qualifications

Required

  • PhD (in hand at the time of appointment) in Rhetoric and Writing or related field
  • Preparation in digital rhetoric, new media, and professional writing
  • The promise of significant research and publication
  • Evidence of successful teaching

Preferred

  • Publication and conference presentations
  • Teaching/working with diverse populations

Responsibilities

  • Ongoing publication commensurate with a research faculty position
  • Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in professional writing and rhetoric with opportunities to develop a course in multimodal writing
  • Serving on departmental, college, and university committees
  • Advising students
